Maintenance

Maintenance of Turf for Gardens

Mowing

Before mowing make sure that the blades of your mower are grinded and that the grass is dry. The more you cut the turf at once, the more the plant is put under stress. Therefore cut your turf frequently. At least one cut a week is required to ensure a nice quality of turf. Do not cut your turf more than 1/3 of its total height at a time. The ideal cutting height is between 3,5 and 4 cm.

Fertilizing

Always use a long term fertilizer for your turf. Fertilize 3 times a year (1x in early spring, 1x in June and 1x at the end of August) and follow the package instructions. Feeding your turf regularly ensures beauty, density and health and controls weeds.

Watering

During the growth period turf requires 20 to 30 liters per m² a week, depending on the weather conditions. If there is no rainfall, the weekly amount of water shall be given in one or two applications. If possible, water in the morning. The turf needs no water between the end of September and the beginning of May.
